My name is Meike and I come from a village in Rhineland in Germany.

For the past 20 years, I have been working as a self-employed person-centered counselor, psychotherapist, and lecturer in person-centered approach in my own practice and at various institutions, including social service agencies, university hospitals, and colleges.

The atmosphere at every PCA event and every single encounter I’ve had the privilege of attending, combined with the knowledge that the PCA is something extraordinarily good, valuable, and worth protecting, motivated me to become active early on. For example, as a member of the GwG core organization team for the PCE2026 World Conference, which will take place in Cologne this July.

Practitioners around the world live as well as struggle for this unique way of being, given the current worldly circumstances. There seems to be an universal wish and need in the core philosophy of the PCA to learn, to develop, to discuss about how to be able to work and live on that basis, to be recognized or simply to encounter with like-minded people for a tailwind and safe harbors.

PCE World is one of the really important pillar as professional home.

2024 I became member of the PCE World board and was appointed chair by my board colleagues. Since then I was able to get to know a part of what the individuals and the organizations are dealing with and develop an idea of what we as an association can contribute. I have gained an understanding of some challenges, the diverse needs and expectations within the community.

It simply brings me great joy and fills me with gratitude to be right in the thick of things and to be able to contribute to the community of (the) PCE World. But may be, if you would support that for a second season for me, a bit more relaxed in life, without organizing a world conference parallel.😊
