I am thrilled to share that I will be hosting the upcoming ADPCA (Association for the Development of the Person Centered Approach) conference in Asheville, North Carolina, USA, from June 29th through Sunday, July 4th.

Inspired by the meditative watercolor workshops I facilitated at both recent gatherings (PCE World conference in Cologne, as well as the 2026 ADPCA conference in Samothrace, Greece), I am dedicating this next conference to Natalie Rogers—daughter of Carl Rogers—who pioneered the integration of expressive arts into humanistic practice.

Under the core theme of Healing, Creativity, and Self-Compassion, this event will explore how artistic expression and humanistic principles intersect.

Asheville offers a remarkably fitting backdrop for our theme:

  • A Legacy of Healing: Nestled in the southern Appalachians, the region has a long history as a place of healing, originating with the Cherokee Nation thriving here for nearly 10,000 years prior to European contact.
  • Vibrant Creative Community: In 2026, USA Today recognized the area as top-ranked in North America for its density of professional creatives.

In these challenging times, grounding ourselves in history while reaching toward innovative ways to expand our presence as practitioners, caregivers, and human beings is more vital than ever. I warmly invite you all to join us next year in Asheville, NC.

Organised by Host: Christine Abassary, PhD, ADPCA President
