PCEP special issue on: Person-centered/experiential group psychotherapy: Theory, research, practice and training: Call for papers

We are inviting manuscript submissions for a special issue of Person-centered & Experiential Psychotherapies (PCEP) on group psychotherapy

During the last fifteen years not much has been published about PCE group psychotherapy and counseling. Yet many person-centered/experiential colleagues are working with groups. (see survey chapters below). Therefore we want to motivate those of us who are working in that field to write down their theoretical thinking, research findings and rich experience about  person-centered/experiential group therapy. We have a special (be it not exclusive) interest in receiving manuscripts about PCE group therapy in different settings (inpatient, outpatient …) and/or with different types of  client problems, because it is especially in this domain that our literature is rather scarce. We also hope that practitioners as well as academics  will be represented amongst the authors of the papers in the Special Issue.

All papers go through the usual peer-review process for PCEP articles, so revisions may be requested, and acceptance of your paper cannot be guaranteed. Papers should be no more than 7000 words (references included).

Germain Lietaer and Paul Dierick will be the guest editors for this special issue (with  Michael Behr as contact editor of  PCEP). In case you would like to first discuss your potential contribution before starting with writing your manuscript, send an e-mail letter with your questions to Germain Lietaer. When your manuscript is ready, send it to both of us: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. A first version of your manuscript should be submitted by 31st November 2013 (a first provisional version may also be written in German, French, or Dutch). Once your article is accepted, your manuscript will be submitted into the  scholar one system of PCEP for the further review process.

Please circulate this invitation to anyone you think may be interested

Dear Person Centered and Experiential Friends,
We want to thank you for your vote of confidence in our proposal. We officially
accept the role of hosting the 2016 WAPCEPC conference here in New York City. We are
very excited and the metaphor we keep using is that we feel as if we have been

The summary report of the WAPCEPC 2011 membership

survey is now available here.

The World Association for Person-Centered & Experiential Psychotherapy & Counseling (WAPCEPC) has now been formally in existence for over 10 years. In that time it has steadily grown in membership, both individual and organisational, developed a scholarly, peer-reviewed journal indexed by PsycINFO and EBSCO, and continues to seek ways to connect PCE practitioners, researchers and theorists across the world.

Now, we think it is important to find out what encourages individuals and organisations to join the Association. We also want to know the reason(s) why people decide to stop subscribing or to not join the WAPCEPC in the first place.

This online survey is available to complete now and will be open until the end of October 2011. It is in a user friendly format that will take only few minutes to complete. No personal data is requested and the information that you give us will be treated with strict confidentiality and anonymity, and used only for the purposes of the board to gain understanding of the thoughts, ideas and wishes about the WAPCEPC held by people within the international PCE community. All the responses will remain anonymous and nothing will be traceable back to yourself as we will not be collecting emails, names or IP numbers for the study. If you would like further information about this survey, please contact us at survey @ pce-world.org.

Please do take the time to fill in the survey. It will help the WAPCEPC in planning for its future.

Many thanks
